Steve created and started the NW Indiana baseball league in 2004.
Through Steve’s hard work, dedication, and inspiration, the NW Indiana
league grew from 2 teams its first year to 16 teams in Steve’s final
year in 2008. After fighting a courageous battle against a deadly
disease; we all lost Steve in the year 2008. However, Steve created a
lasting legacy for himself, his family, the community, and the ball
players in the NW Indiana league through his courage, strength, passion
and love of the game.
Steve’s commitment and support to the naba has helped countless
individuals to play baseball in NW Indiana. In the year 2009, hundreds
of baseball players will have the opportunity to play and participate in
the national pastime of baseball through the national adult baseball
association thanks to Steve Carpenter.
Fittingly, Steve was elected as a member of the NABA Hall of Fame in
the year 2009
