COACH SCHEDULING INFORMATION
The following is information from JCJBL regarding the coming season. Please realize this comes directly from JCJBL, and the DRBA must adhere to these rules regarding scheduling. We will not be able to assist you should you choose not to follow these coach requirements.
Each coach is required to submit an availability calendar at jcjbl.org. If you are a returning coach, you did this last year and should be familiar with the process. For new coaches, the calendar simply shows league schedulers the days that your team is available to play during the season. Once prompted, all coaches will go into the JCJBL web site and fill out their month-to-month availability dates.
Most important, there are minimums that each coach must adhere to each month. Simply, you must be available a minimum of 20 days per month, and four must be weekend days. Here is the breakdown, according to JCJBL:
March: 20 days, four of which must be weekend days (14s only)
April: 20 days, four of which must be weekend days
May: 20 days, four of which must be weekend days (Memorial Day weekend is a mandatory blackout and does not count).
June: 20 days, two weekend days for geographical split leagues, four days for all others
As stated above, JCJBL is requesting all coaches to adhere to these minimums. (If you can make more days available, that is great). For those teams that choose not to meet the minimums, JCJBL will deny all reschedule requests until the required days are made available for that month.
Any reschedule requests outside the 10-day window must be made through your team account at the JCJBL web site. Any requests inside 10 days must be submitted to Dawn Schmittel at JCJBL (vp@jcjbl.org).
Availability calendars for Level III and 14s must be complete by Feb. 24 and should be available within the next week or so (scheduling should be completed by Feb. 29). Availability calendars for 8s-13s will be available between March 3-9 and must be completed by March 16 (scheduling should be complete by March 24).
It is important to check with your parents over the next couple of weeks to determine any scheduling conflicts, so you will be ready to go once the calendars are made available.
All teams will play 18 league games.
Here are a few dates to mark on your calendars:
March 8: High school Level III season starts. Season ends May 7.
March 8: 14s season starts. Season ends May 18.
March 9: MANDATORY new coaches meeting, 11 a.m. at JCJBL office.
March 31: 8s-13s season starts. Season ends June 25 for geographic split leagues. For 0 and 1st League non-geographic split leagues, the season ends June 29. For 2nd and 3rd League non-geographic split leagues, the season ends July 3.
May 30: Seniors League season starts. Season ends July 23.
May 10-11: High school Level III tournament.
June 28-29: Geographic split leagues tournaments.
July 26-27: Seniors League tournament.
July 4-7: Majors and AAA (O/1st Leagues)
July 11-14: AA and A (2nd/3rd Leagues)
