Letter from Coach Jeff Legault
DRHS Logo

To all Dakota Ridge Youth Baseball players and parents:

I would like to officially welcome you all to the first year of the newly formed Dakota Ridge Baseball Association. We are all embarking on something I believe is going to be a very special organization for the kids in this area.  I cannot tell you enough how excited the coaching staff at Dakota Ridge High School is to have our own youth organization for baseball.

The benefits of this organization are going to be extremely evident in the upcoming summer, as well as future years for the players.  I always have had a goal to implement an association like this, and so far my expectations have far exceeded what I thought it would look like.  The positive attitude from the parents and players to play for us has been absolutely incredible, and that is the first step in measuring our success.

A special thank you needs to go out to our board of directors, specifically Shane Fugita, president, Gerry Valerio, vice president and Bob Samson, our secretary/treasurer.  Without their vision, and hours of long work, this would not be possible for our kids.  A special thank you also to Shaun Kerrick, Dave Derr, Mike Horan and Cisco Almanzar, for offering to volunteer their time to get us off the ground and running.  I also would like to thank the parents for having the trust in us to run an association for your kids - they are what this is all about.

I believe baseball to be the greatest sport, one that teaches many skills that are needed to be successful in life.As the season begins, please remember it is the most enjoyable game to play, so above all HAVE FUN!!!  Dakota Ridge Baseball has a lot of pride, integrity and the drive to do everything first-class.  Work hard at practices, give it your all in games and look to improve your skills at all times.  Remember, it is a "game of failure," and how you react to that failure is the true measure of what type of player you will become.

I am looking forward to getting to know the players in our area before they attend our high school and watching this organization grow.  Please come visit some of the high school games this spring and summer. Our schedule can be found on the web site: www.dakotaridgebaseball.org.  We will be seeing you at your games as well.

GO EAGLES!

Jeff Legault

South Jeffco Refunds

BaseballThe DRBA, in an agreement with the South Jeffco Sports Association, will be in charge of issuing refunds to those players who registered with South Jeffco in the fall but will be participating in the DRBA this season. Once the registration process is completed for both associations, South Jeffco will pay the DRBA a lump sum for those needing refunds. The DRBA agreed to this arrangement to help reduce the administrative costs associated with the refunds. Once the DRBA has the refund, it will draft checks and set up a day to distribute them to members.  Thank you for your patience in this matter.
